My Family: Coni and I married in 1977. We have 4 children (3 daughters and 1 son) and 9 grandchildren. All of our family live in the Northwest (Washington and Oregon). Our son is a police officer in Wenatchee Washington, one daughter owns and operates a Solon in Redmond, Oregon, one is a front-end manager for a grocery store, and our 3rd daughter is a busy stay at home mom.
My Story: I was born into a Christian family, and my earliest memories include regular church attendance, my parent’s involvement in church ministries, and church as an extended family. I was saved at age 6 through a VBS program. My social life revolved around the church youth group throughout Junior High and High School. I graduated from Seattle Pacific College with a BA in Economics and Business in 1973. I received my MBA from Seattle University in 1982.
After graduating from SPC, I began working for a school district and stayed there for 20 years. I finished my first career as an Assistant Superintendent and Chief Financial Officer. My next career was in Municipal Investment Banking assisting school districts in financing new construction and modernization.
I retired in 2012 and we moved to Sun City Festival as full-tine residents in March, 2012. We had been part-timers since 2007 while I continued to work. After a few months, I returned to work as the Executive Director for Business for the Dysart School District in Surprise and retired again in June of 2018.
We have been attending CSV since 2008 when the church began meeting in the school. Both Coni and I felt God’s call to service here and have invested our gifts and talents in this community.
Something Most People Don’t Know: I have a sister named Jill.
My Trademark Expression: Let’s figure out what should be and then work toward getting there.
Besides the Bible, My Recommended Reading Would Be: Anything by Charles Colson and Henry Blackaby. I also enjoy John MacArthur’s Commentaries.
I’m Most Excited About: Watching God work through CSV in reaching and supporting our community. Seeing the response of all who join in God’s work (Phil 2:12-13)
My Favorite TV Shows: Sports, NCIS and The Walton’s
In My Free Time, I Usually: Read novels and history books and walk for exercise.
