My Family: My wife Wendy and I were married in 1990. We have 5 children, (3 daughters and 2 sons),19 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. We have one son and family in Ohio and the rest of our children are in the Pacific Northwest. We go back to WA State during the summer to spend time with our kids, their families and our friends. We stay in our 5th wheel at a camping club in the woods while in WA.
My Story: I was raised in a Christian family, the oldest of 6 children. We attended church 2 times on Sunday and Youth Group on Wednesday nights. I accepted Christ as my Savior at Warm Beach Camp in 1963 and was baptized in 1971 at Lake Goodwin.
I went to a local community college for 1 year and then I attended Aldersgate Bible College in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan , Canada for 1 year. I experienced what 80 degrees below zero felt like!
I returned to Washington State and went into partnership with my Dad in a Radiator and Muffler Shop. I got to work with my Dad for 7 years…a great experience that developed my work ethic and I really got to know my Dad. We sold the shop and I worked for the new owner for 3 years. I did some minor automotive repair from home and through one of my customers I heard of a job opening at a local retirement community. I interviewed with the CEO and was offered the Director of Environmental Services position. I thoroughly enjoyed this job for 28 years working with awesome people…getting to know and hear the stories of retired folks who had incredible life experiences.
I retired from that position and my wife and I operated our handyman business for a few years before selling our home in Washington and moving to Festival in 2017.
We began attending CSV right after we arrived in Festival. My wife Wendy and I are involved in the leadership of CSV Care Ministry, and we attend a Tuesday night Bible Study. We have enjoyed being involved in CSV Ministry and making many new friends while enjoying the warmth and sun of Arizona.
Things Most People Don’t Know: I was born in Fairbanks, Alaska before it became a State.
